If my memory is correct (and it is quite easy to challenge my memory) the Motor Trend data is calculated adding 0-100 accel numbers and 100-0 braking, with the tests conducted separately. The other numbers (I think they were Car & Driver but not certain) were actual but contained errors due to driving beyond 100 mph before starting to brake and inconsistent transition times. If I recall correctly the SRT went up to 103 mph and had something like a .8 second transition time. With those on par with the 911 turbo the SRT would have bested it. The Mosler was on slicks and cannot be compared to street tires (unless you are Motor Trend that is).

MT got 12.1 0-100-0 for the SRT.....Maybe MT's test track was grippier.....

The MT result is lower as they have no transition time and no driver error in going past 100 mph before braking. Purely theoretical. It is the addition of a 0-100 and a 100-0 test. I am not even sure if their 100-0 starts at 100 or if it is the time to slow from 100 when braking starts at a higher speed (like 105 or 110). Either way it is theoretical and a car cannot replicate it in one test.

SRT 10 smokes some pretty heavy machines here. Especially when you consider the $$investment! The line above the Enzo is a Kawaski ZX9R bike.

Was there anything above the ZX9?

Yeah, Road & Track overshot 100MPH with the Viper, and had a relatively long 0.7 sec transition time.
If they had gotten a 8.4 sec 0-100 time like in Motor Trend and an average 0.5 sec transition time then they would have gotten closer to 12.7 sec 0-100-0 time, and readily beaten the X-50 optioned, 911 Turbo.

But at least the SRT-10 Viper did better in R&T's testing than either the $300K Murcielago or $400K Saleen S7! :2tu:

Just as a fyi the ********* SRT that was tested in MT blasted everything there including the bike in the 0-100-0 test :D I know its a modded Viper but to beat a bike in "this kind of test" is an accomplishment. Only made 550+ rwhp..And the SRT was on street radials  ....Cant remember the exact number it did the 0-100-0 but it was in the 10 second range....With slicks might be in the 9sec range...

By today's standards though, the 1994 ZX9 (only 900 cc) is a slow dog. Heavy and underpowered. Ten years has gone by, and the literbike class is the most competitive group in motorcycles. The latest literbikes coming out are gonna be serious business. The Yamaha R1, at 1000 cc's, put's out around 180 crank horsepower, and weighs 370 pounds. That's some awesome power to weight ratio. Suzuki's GSXR 1000, Kawasaki's ZX10, and Honda's CBR1000 are gonna be in the same league. And their brakes, tires, and suspensions are advanced as well. With a skilled rider, today's stock literbikes are well into the 10 second-range 0-100-0 mph. Mod them and watch out! Be careful when you pick on those poor little bikes!

Interesting data....it definitely put a smile on my face knowing that when my LETHAL 750 Viper was featured in Car and Driver Magazine we managed a sub 11.5 sec. 0-100-0 time. On street tires and pump gas we did 0-100 in 7.3 sec and 100-0 in under 3.9 sec, and this was on a slighy damp surface. I think that even beats the mighty Enzo, and on street tires too!!

I don't remember the times but one of the bike mags did a 0-100-0 compair between a Z06 and a GSXR-1000. The bike was stopped before the Vette even got up to 100.

Where all all the Vette lovers that lurk around. C5 was not even on the page, relying on the 1994 ZR1 in 14th place to wave their banner. I bet they are quiet on this thread.

Well this viper/Vette lover will swear that the Z06 is undoubtably quicker in this kind of test than a ZR-1...They just didnt have the Z06 data to include in this test....The Z is one of the best stopping cars out there...Though the SRT stopped almost 25ft sooner from 150mph[?] in one of the MT tests  gotta reread the article to get the exact mph and ft...It was huge though..
