You sound like my type of guy...forget messing with it and rebuilding the whole thing...keep it simple...and cheap! Kudos to you...

Well...

Check your oil often. See if it is thinned out and smells like gasoline. Keep a CLOSE eye on it. If it reeks of gas and is thinned out then there will be problems. I'd try this approach before I spend a dime! If it doesn't cost anything why not try it?

Good- Lets see where this thread goes. Al- You are the reason I did not worry at first. But the car uses 3 quarts every 500 miles.

I do not want to blow the engine.

I do not race the car.

If you can't smell it you should be able to feel the thickness of the oil on your fingers. If it is thinned out you will be able to see it.
