A FORD DEALERSHIP! Oh, for warranty work there are a couple Dodge dealerships that are reasonable. None that seem dedicated to the Viper per se. But for those Viper owners that are looking for aftermarket work, upgrades, or paint work, they invariably end up at Chuck Anderson Ford in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. The owner, Mike Anderson, is a long-time VCA member and has owned several Vipers. Currently he owns a flawless 2001 GTS with lots of extras on it. Here is a typical shot outside his dealership, with his car in the middle:
Both the Cobra R and the RT/10 are for sale. When I went up there today to pick up my Viper, they had FIVE other Vipers there. One was getting tuned with his new Roe Supercharger (you may recall the beautiful "all yellow" motor with matching supercharger - an Anderson creation); a Final Edition was getting his new Roe Supercharger installed; a DLM car (900HP) was getting some paint work done (viscious attack by a lawnmower); a certain SRT-10 had just finished up a little lower fascia touch-up from a close encounter with a parking curb (D'OH!); and still another was in for some exhaust work. Remember, this is at a FORD dealership. Oh, and they also work on a LOT of the local law enforcement vehicles there, so it is always amusing to see Vipers being worked on side-by-side next to a police pursuit vehicle.
So if you are ever in Kansas City or even in the area, be sure to stop by and say hi to Mike. They have installed full interiors, superchargers, wings, custom exhaust, heads, and darn near everything that can be done to a Viper. Now if we can just get him to buy a Dodge dealership...
