Anyone get mad when you wouldn't let them drive your Viper?

My brother was drooling over my gts and I told him he could drive it, but it had 350 lb limit and I would leave it up to him. He did not drive it and I was glad.

You know its funny you posted this - I am really opposed
to anyone else driving my Viper because I think she still
has some bad kharma left running through her. Maybe five
years ago my wife's second cousin something-or-other just
gets back from Iraq and met the car for the first time. He
asked to sit in it, and I gladdly gave him a blistering ride
through some of the back roads here. But when we got
back his mother gave me the riot act because I didn't
"offer" to let him drive. Like it was my patriotic duty or
something. I told her that the car is high strung and that I
don't allow anyone, not even my wife, to drive it because
one wrong move on these narrow roads could end baddly.
She seemed to feel that driving a Humvee through the
desert made him more than qualified to drive a sports
car through southern Delaware. I tell you, I never felt like
such a tool for giving anyone a ride ever.

She was the tool, not you! You gave him more than he asked for. Honestly, sometimes a ride in these cars can be more thrilling and less stressful than driving, because as the passenger, all you have to do is hang and enjoy the best roller coaster ride in the world. This is especially true when riding with a skilled driver. A couple of the most awesome experiences that I had in a Viper was when I wasn't driving. There is nothing like riding in a Viper around Laguna Seca with a driver that really knows what he is doing. I will never reach that level...the other time was my first ride, when I had no clue as to what was about to happen when he dropped the hammer. What a tremendous rush.
