eBay Motors: Dodge : Viper (item 200246445003 end time Aug-18-08 07:58:29 PDT)

I bought a 96 B/W GTS on e-bay today to go with my 94 RT/10. Clear title, two owner with 17,400 miles for $36,000. Car is in Farmington, MI (suburb of Detroit) and I will fly there and drive it back to Florida unless someone has extra trailer space coming back from VOI.

Car was owned by a local dealer until Jeff Detweiler bought it 4 years ago. Anyone on here know Jeff or the car?

Looks like you stole that one.... why did it need a new clutch, etc.?

I am not sure about the clutch, radiator and gas tank replacement. I am hoping newer is better. None should have needed replaced by 17,000 miles. Maybe number 12 of the first GTS production had a few manufacturing bugs? The car was only driven 9,000 miles the first 8 years by the first owner and I don't know if it was driven consistently or run 9,000 miles and stored for a while.

I was glad to see it had new tires, because most of the 96/97 B/W cars have tires with lots of tread but 5 or 6 years old.

Just an FYI, I live in Michigan and someone pointed me to that ebay posting about a month ago and there was a winning bidder and I missed the auction by about 10 minutes. It obviously fell through and a month later it is being sold again. I would definitely check into it a bit. Farmington has some pretty wealthy areas so maybe he is just ignorant to its worth but I would look into why it was relisted.
