Broken Latch on Hardtop - What\'s the fix?
The front left latch where it meets the top of the windshield is broke. There are two small screws that are stripped that hold a small plate on top of the frame where the post secure. As I secure the latch, it seems to pull the small plate out of position causing the hardtop to fly up and off...you know the rest of the story. Has anyone had this problem? Does this mean I'll have to re-thread the holes with slightly larger screws and remount the plate? Now that I need to buy a new hardtop, I need to get-rid of this problem.
Also, can anyone recommend aftermarket hardtops that have a little more head room and better latching mechanism on the front and rear (web site or phone number).
