I live about 15 minutes from there and stop in all the time to look at what they have. I know of several people that have purchased from them.

Looked at a car there last year. I made an offer of which was completely reasonable and they practically kicked me out of their store. Won't be going back to say the least. I would do your research on them. Check the BBB. I would recommend Bill @Woodhouse or John Gastman at Roanoke (bought my Durango from him 4y ago). Both eat and sleep Vipers and know their stuff. You will have a difficult time finding negative comments on either. Good luck! :drive:

I bought a Mercedes CLS 55 AMG off them 2 years ago. Very happy with the car and service. Not familiar with their experience with Vipers.

I realize any business of any size can have complaints; but, here is another one:

Company information:
Chicago Motor Cars
United States
chicagomotorcars.com

Purchased car from this dealer in December 2007 from an ebay listing. Tried to schedule an inspection with the salesman and he assured me the car was perfect and like new and sent me copies of the carfax report showing it had no defects. So I had the dealer ship me the car. A few weeks after getting the car I discovered areas of paint repair, so I called the salesman in January to discuss the damage I found. The salesman would not accept my calls, so I emailed the dealership describing the damage still with no response. Then a few months later I discovered more damage under the car and found broken glass in the trunk. I finally got a hold of the owner of the dealership and told him they sold me a wrecked car, he says there is nothing they can do. So now the car is worth $20, 000 less than I paid for it and it cannot be sold because it is wrecked. I now have to sue this dealer for AUTO FRAUD.

Share Purchased 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo in December 2007, after receiving the car I found that it had been repaired due to an accident. Tried contacting the Dealership salesman that sold me the car and he would not take my calls or return my calls. I sent emails to the dealership describing the damage with no response. Over the next couple of months I found even more severe damage was repaired, and some of teh damage was left unrepaired under the car. The dealer still will do nothing about the damage. I have been ripped off, and now have to sue the dealer for teh damages I haev incurred.

I saw some positive posts; but, most complaints centered around misrepresentation of whether cars had been in an accident before. Some people say most of their cars are purchased at auctions and not taken in as trades as their salesmen claim.

They may get it but that seems overpriced in this market.

Are there any viper techs in that area that would do a pre-purchase inspection for you?

That's probably the only way I'd move forward with the deal given what we know. Even if I was to see the car in person, I don't know if I'd notice everything I'm suppose to.

Heck, even a regular inspection is better than nothing and they run $100-150.

Bought my car there last year. Guy I dealt with has owned 3 vipers and gave me a 20 minute phone call detailed every aspect of the car. I was pleased with everything they did and would recommend them again. PM me and I will try to find the guy's name but if you call they will hook you up with him. Brain fade!

Of course the BBB is nothing but a "sell you a good rating if you pay" bunch. 60 Minutes did an expose on the BBB and found if you paid they rated you A regardless of if you were a gun runner or sold drugs. I have found my local BBB to be completely worthless in resolving any dispute.

I actually looked at one there about 7-8 months ago & my experience was kind of what pirate said. The Viper(silver) wasn't exactly what I was looking for but the salesman called me 3 times trying to get me in it, dropped the price 2k. But you know how sometimes things just don't feel right & the last time he called me I told him I had already bought another one. It just seemed like he was just trying to hard to get rid of it (may have been the end of the month quota time) maybe it was ok but I just didn't feel right about it. So I guess my experience wasn't good or bad, just be very careful considering the BBB rating & some of the other guys on here's experience. JMO

I bought mine from them in late Febuary. It was a trade in that hadn't even made it onto their web site yet. Dealer was super friendly and down to earth, but I am now getting ticked off because the title still hasn't made it to the secretary of state yet and I have a set of vanity plates on hold waiting for it.
Other wise it was your typical used car dealer, just with top end cars.
If your going to buy a used car then you just never know whats in store unless you look with a magnifying glass.

Personally, I would never buy a car over the internet without actually going to the buyer and doing a complete inspection. I would not just inspect it once but a least two times even if it means I have to spend a couple of days doing so. :omg:

Go to Roanoke Motors you can't go wrong with John or Dennis!:2tu::2tu::2tu:
I agree again....or Woodhouse. If you actually go to Chicago Motorcars you will notice that they didn't have a mechanic on site. Not a one. Or at least didn't see a shop whatsoever. And keep in mind, these are USED cars you are looking at which I personally would not buy if they were not inspected by a specialist, I.e Viper Tech. I'm sure that they will tell you that the car was inspected or they took it off site to have it inspected. Roanoke and Woodhouse have extremely competent Viper techs on hand that have their cars pre-inspected. I have been to Roanoke several times and live 2 1/2 hours away. I will go there for service and would buy my next Viper or Chrysler from them in a second. Now it's time for them to pay up for the endorsement. :)

Their mechanics are at the shop across the street and seemed like a nice kid when I spoke to one of them. He had to replace the passanger side window switch on mine.
Not a viper tech though! So your going to want to bring one with you or take it to one.

From all that I've been reading about them though, I think I must have just got into the right car is all. It was fate that I own my baby I guess.
