Factory Dot 3, or Dot 4 for normal use. The higher performance, high boiling point fluids break down and need to be changed offen.

After losing clutch pedal with only 500 miles on my 08 Viper my tech contacted the factory techs. They said bleed the clutch and use Dot 4. They said do not use Dot 3. I use Motul 600.

DOT 3 has NO PLACE in a Viper's clutch. Clutch fluid was changed to DOT 4 by the 1999 model year cars.

As I have stated before...sadly late Gen II, all Gen III, and all Gen IV Vipers' Clutch Reservoir Caps still say "DOT 3" in error!!!

Note that contemporary Mopar bottles of brake fluid are labeled "Brake and Clutch"...DOT 4.
