The 1st time I saw this car was in a Goodyear advertisement. I loved its lines and thought it was similar to the GTS from the windshield back. I was floored to learn its history in this article:

Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe - 250 gto - Jalopnik

:usa::usa::usa:

Yes, there is a slight resemblance ! :2tu: It is part of what drew me to the Viper GTS. It is the modern equivalent of what I lusted after when I was a pre-teen, reading Road & Track magazine. The designers of the Viper certainly captured the look and feel in a modern package.

That print was done by a very famous automotive artist by the name of Bill Neal. He's a good friend of Carroll Shelby's, has won numerous fine art awards and is a resident of Dallas.

Several years back I purchased one of these prints mounted with a Viper emblem in the frame.
The print is signed by Bill Neal and Carol and the matting is personally signed by them.

It says that I have print 192 out of 350 made.

It hangs in my office.

The resemblance is much stronger from the side. Windshield back it's GTS all day long.

Here are some pictures that I took when TorqueTV did a Head to Head with my '02 GTS against the Superformance Daytona.

It was really cool seeing the 2 cars side by side and how much in common they have.....EXCEPT for the fact that my stock GTS performed admirably against the Daytona.

I totally forgot about that video ! I just went back and watched it again. Funny how they chose the Daytona coupe for Handling and Power, yet your GTS beat it for lap time and 1/4 mile time. Of course, the Viper is going to be the easiest to drive fast in a very short window of exposure.

Sorry guys you are wrong. The Daytona cobra is a body rip off copy of a 62" Ferrari 250 GTO. The grandfather was designed by Bizzarini. I'm no good at posting pics so you will have to google or youtube. Certainly one of the most beautiful cars of all time like the similar shaped Viper GTS. If I can scrape up 17 Mil or so I wlil definately have one parked next to my GTS. GTS Bruce
