DC Pace Car??

I was just watching a Nascar race which is like watching paint dry, but ALMS is over for the season. The pace car was a C6 Corvette and I heard it quite frequently paces the race. Why is there never a Viper paceing the race? After all, Dodge does have several Nascars out there as does GM. You can't "win on Sunday and sell on Monday" with this going on.

But for that matter, why doesn't dodge have vipers in commercials?

Or maybe its because the vettes can hoover like is see in their commercials.

Have seen a few, SRT Ram, Charger are the ones that come to mind.
I agree, why don't you see a V pacing the race?? Politics.

It's a weird thing. Vipers seem to be hidden secrets. No commercials to speak of, no pace cars as often as others, rarely in movies. But then again, there are only a handfull of Dodges in NASCAR. Way more Chevys.

I picked up a Motor trend magazine that put the Viper up against the mustang and Vette. It started out promising, with the Viper as fastest in one particular track event, but in the end, I think it was Vette, Mustang, Viper when all things considered.

Even in the toy stores, to see a Viper diecast, or model or anything is rare. I'm sure someone now is going to come up with 20 viewings or reasons to dispute this.

I don't know, but I do agree with the post.

Dodge just sponsored this years new european FIA GT3 series
they supplied a SRT viper pace car, SRT rams and other various cars like the 300C for every round of the series

no doubt they had to pay out big bucks for the privalage

DC is very tight with licensing, that is why you don't see much in the way of collectables.

There was a recent (last couple yrs) commercial with a SRT10 Viper, SRT10 Ram and a SRT4 Neon. It had Richard Petty, Rusty Wallace, Stirling Marlin and someone else. Someone can correct me on this.

(There was an SRT10 Ram commercial with Ryan Newman awhile back, too.)

A RAG TOP, how gross. But thanks for the photos NEIL, and I know how popular road racing is in Europe. Its as popular as Nascar is here I guess, which is really gross. Just glad to see DC showing up somewhere!!

no doubt something to do with the launch of Dodge selling cars under their own name in Europe, before 2006 you could never buy a Dodge from a official dealership just certain re-badged Chrysler's.

There are brand new dodge dealerships springing up all over the UK, problem is they are all pushing the Calibre, a car here no one wants....doomed to be a sales failure just like the neon and crossfire

It looks great!

The car looks like stock. But I couldn't see what was under the hood.
