Difference between US and EU Viper?

Hi

what is different in the US and EU Viper? I know that the EU (European) Viper has less HP. Is it due to noise regulations?

EU has two rear mufflers, US has both rear pipes into a single rear muffler.

I think the resonators are more restricted also on EU cars.

Computer is calibrated a little different for EU octane ratings, only about 5bhp loss though.

Main restriction is a black plastic restricting insert within the US OE air box, in the very the front section as the air enters. They had to restrict the air flow in to silence the car enough to pass tight EU noise regulations.

The good news is you can easily remove the airbox choker, you can fit a nice cat back exhaust thus removing the exhaust chokers and improving also.
