had a set of EBC reds (the new ones) installed 1500 miles ago and since day one the squeal like a b*tch...anyone else have this prob?
On my Gen II, OEM pads squealed and dusted like crazy.
Put the "new" EBC reds on, without resurfacing the rotors. Quiet and probably 75% less dust. 1,500 miles later, still quiet and very low dust. Needless to say, I'm VERY happy with this upgrade.
Even though I "bedded" all the pads I used on the Viper, I have to wonder if bedding is just a myth or what. If it was necessary, then who "beds" the pads on new cars? Nobody does, yet 99.9% of all cars drive down the road squeak-free.
I used to run EBC Green's and they squealed like crazy as well. It seems to be somewhat common with EBC pads, especially the Red's, as they are a track pad.
FWIW, I've been running EBC Greens on my '04 SVT Focus for 9,000 miles now. No Squeal as of yet, though they do make plenty of dust.
I'd like to try the EBC Red pads next time around if they make less dust (and don't squeal!).
just my opinion ...EBC pads **** even with new ebc rotors
Hawk ceramic pads work for me. no squeal and no dust.. they bite harder when they warm up

Not me, but installed them with new stoptech two piece aerorotors and ss lines all at the same. Did you turn your rotors if they were not new when you intsalled them? That could be the cause..........
