why does the car alarm trip. i turned the car off. then decided to go park it. when i went to turn it back on it started and turned of right away. then u see the alarm light flash. so i sett the alarm off so i can turn on the car. so i press the unlock button and try to start the car and it does it again. so i wait 5 minutes and it was back to normal. is there a reason why this happens or is it just the viper....

Sounds like a Gen I Viper, and not getting the alarm disabled? However, opening the door should have set it off, so not ringing a bell with me a common problem.

Try replacing the batteries in your fob. That's a cheap place to start and maybe it's running out of juice. The factory alarm has a fuel-interrupt which will allow the car to start, but then it quickly dies (when alarm is activated).

I'd check the $5 battery first. Good luck,
