gas tank issue

Ok I changed the float in my gas tank a month ago and the guage is 1/4 off. When it is full it barely reads 3/4 tank. So what could be wrong. Putting the new float is just about about fool proof to put in wrong. Any ideas and I dont want to rip everything back out and take out all the rivets.

To fix that, I don't know any other way then to get back in there and bend the arm on the float down about 1/2 inch and that should read full then. If it doen't read full, then you may have to bend it a little more.
