gen2 rear in gen1 , how much to machine off pad

got a gen2 complete rear, bat wing and 3rd member for my gen1 . my question is how much do i have to machine off the top pad of the 3rd member to match the thickness off the gen 1 , thanks to all . i would measure mine if it was available .

Cant you take the Gen I out and take both to a local trusted machine shop and they can "match" them up?

I have put a gen 1 in a gen 2 before and it bolted up.
