Just installed VEC1 and the electrical portion of my speedo is
acting weird. It stays at zero mostly but shoots up to 60-80mph
or hangs around 15-20mph at 60ish. The odometer portion is keeping correct mileage though.

Can't determine the cause.

Could the UNITRAX 3:55 gear calibrator gone bad.

I don't think the VEC1 has anything to do with it but it was
working fine until I tried it out today.

I checked wires at the PCM everything seems tight.

Any help would be appreciated.

That's a strange one.
Does the VEC1 seems to be working correctly?
None of the wires between the two units should be shared, though I've never installed the Unitrax speedo calibrator.
Sounds like you checked to make sure a wire didn't get pulled loose from the speedo box during VEC1 installation.
If your odometer is continuing to read proper mileage and the speedometer is bouncing around, I'd say it's probably something associated with the speedometer itself. But, you never really hear about speedometers going bad either.
Let us know what you find.

Sean, you are right, there are no wires being shared by the two
systems. As of now the odometer has also stopped working and
the speedo is totally dead.

I am going to try to unplug some of the speedo wires but I can't
return everything back to stock so that might not work either.

Also can I by-pass your system by reconnecting any wires?

Thanks
