I wanted to send a quick thank you to all of the VCA members who voted for me in the Ultimate Street Car Challenge. Just received a call from the magazine and they said....I AM IN!!!

Looks like they have a much stronger field than last year. After the experience with Car and Driver last year, I think I can take what I learned and be a serious contender for the crown this year!!

I will keep all of you posted. And....thanks again!

Looks like I will be putting a call into Mumford to get some tips for winning.....

Regards,
Wayne (LTHL VPR)

Russ-
Yes....How can I contact you?

Anthony-
I was waiting for some fuel rails (so we could use off the shelf top feed style injectors) while the custom Viper injectors are being made. APEX finally received the rails but they had some issues that are now being fixed by the manufacturer. Once we get them back; I should be able to post numbers the same day. My car has been sitting in my garage for a couple months now....Arghhh....

Thanks for the support. The VCA is like an extended family.....

Wayne, did they notify you, or did they post a listing in their magazine?
You mentioned a strong field, do you have more specifics on your competition?

What are the specs of the car you have entered and how do you expect it to perform?

Isn't one of their grading criteria something like, Who has the loudest stereo?

Wear a knit cap pulled down over your eyes, for extra points.

Wishing you the best, while you "repesthentin" the VCA. :D

Thanks again....

The event will be held next month.
I think they have something like 15 tests; about 1/2 of them are performance related. I think cars can pick up some big points for the car show, grandma test, drivability, and dyno test. Performance-wise, I feel like I should be ok, and I hope to take some of the non-performance tests as well.

I think the magazine will be posting the entrants soon.

I'll keep everyone here posted.
