Bought a used hurst shifter and I have a few questions

Can I reuse the bolts on the stock shifter?

The shifter has a lot of gunk in it so I plan to clean it out. What grease should I put in it?

How do I install it? Herd there is a washer I have to look out for?

[email protected]

Thanks

I took the used one out by in bolting the 4 screws and yanking it out the tranny. Prb not the way I should install it back

You may be able to reuse the same bolts if they stick past the base where it mounts at least a 1/2 inch, the washer is the little cup that the shifter ball sits in. It may try to come out . I think you can use any type of grease as long as it is thick in texture not liquid type its only there to keep the wear down on the plastic cup. Be sure to put heat resistant gasket sealer between base and trans so oil doesn't leak out.

If the original bolts don't work, do you know the size and length?

Hopefully a auto or Home Depot will have that bolt

Home depot would Ben your best bet but just make sure to find a nut that fits on the original bolt with ease and the find the same bolt but a little longer. The last thing you want to do is get the wrong thread and screw up the threads in the trans
