I have an 06 viper, noticed that the plastic piece around the interior door handle is chipped... i can't say for sure the dealer did it, but only noticed it a week after i took the car into a dealer for service.... i can't seem to find that this part by itself is sold.. it appears to be part of the interior door trim part which is 800 - 1000.00

Can anyone confirm this?

I'm pretty sure the door panel is only sold as a single piece. I've looked for this piece before too. this piece your referring to is also the door pull handle which is all stapled to the remaining 2 pieces that make up the door panel

It was in for a coolant flush, which they ended up not doing stating they tested the coolant and it tested for -39 degrees protection (it only has 12K miles on it). They also checked the battery by removing the back panel and putting a tester on it. I was back in the bay during the battery test... They drove it back to the bay and drove it back up front.. i wasn't present during all of that.

Yes that part is 1 piece and is approx $1000.00 I just had the drivers side replaced under warranty. The Viper tech at Tomball noticed it was damaged the last time my car was in for service.

I have the exact same chip in my door panel. If I didn't just blow my budget for crap that shouldn't have to be repaired (2nd HVAC resistor in 2 years):censored:, I would jump on the bay ad if it's for real. 90% off MSRP:omg:

Okay, so what is the trick to getting this panel off the door? I heard some horror stories of people breaking stuff getting it all taken off. Tried searching around and didn't find a step by step guide...

Thanks for the replies guys!

Any idea how your chip happened???? I'm still trying to wrap my head around how they did this... only thing I could think was that they had something in the seat when they closed the door or something.

In case the above options don't work out for you, looks like VPA has it going for a discounted rate right now.

Nope 06 GTS blue convert... one of only 88 i'm told!

OK, I was just wondering. I sold my 06 Slate vert and it had the same exact thing. It was there when I got it in 08 so I have no idea what caused it. When I saw the picture, I was thinking there is no way there could be another one broke in the same place. I guess there are more.

The plastic is very thin in this area. Take the door panel to a trim shop and they will repair it. The damaged area is painted from the factory. They can match the paint.

I ordered a new panel from Chrysler and it was chipped in that same area.
