K&N\'s

I understand earlier Vipers need a mod. to the airbox to get the K&N's to fit properly. Is this mod needed on the newer Vipers? I have a '96 GTS. Will the K&N's fit right in, or do I have to grind off that ridge inside the airbox? Thanks in advance for any responses.

No mods were needed for the k&n or s&b's on my 95
