So anyone have events for this coming year?:dunno:If any ideas are out there please toss them out.This may help to get a larger increase in members to the events.:2tu:Not sure where this year but i am sure we will have the third Red Deer area BBQ and ride.If the turn out seems to be up from the last few years we can maybe even turn it into a weekend event with runs out to our Calgary and Edmonton area members play grounds.:dunno:

After coming back from voi through Kallispell, I was thinking of a trip back there on the road to the sun, which was closed at the time so I did not get to travel it. I here that it is spectacular. The long route around was quite nice, lots of windy roads and nice scenery. There also looked like lots to do in the Killispell area. Might be nice to spend a couple or three days on that trip. Just a thought.

I'll do a track day again this year.

We lose the track forever in October so it'll be a last blast (unless we get another reprieve... again).

I don't think I'll do a whole event like I did the last 2 years.

So I got the WC event list yesterday in my e-mail.I am interested
In the Badlands run and the Banff and area event. Anyone
else take an interest in these. I figure if there is going to be an event
in the Bamdlands/ Dino museum we should have a very good
Alberta turn out.

Shane;

Sounds like we have an willing participant in helping organize the Alberta event for this summer. Can you advise on tentative routes and times from Canmore to Tyrell Museum and back to Red deer; potential stops along the way; and any other information on the proposed weekend. Hotel and restauraunt recommendations are always welcome.

Can't wait to get my Hennessey 650R Venom Coupe on the road this year. :feedback:

Congrats on the new car, it looks like a beauty.

Fireball had a great route through this area a few years ago which was very scenic and included a short ferry crossing of the Red Deer River.

Steve;

Thanks for getting back I look forward to any and all info that will add to the success of the proposed event. Keep in touch as we get closer I would like to see members from central Alberta take over the reins and confirm final details of the event.

Go Steeler Go!!

Cheers,

Jim

I still have the "booklet" map he created if needed.

I still have the route maps as well.

I've been away in Antarctica for most of January - but I'm BAAACK now!

I see I need to re-up my VCA membership.

I'll get to it this week.

I will put together a track night - maybe several (espcially since I'm not the only ACR anymore).

I'll let everyone know when a 'Viper friendly' track event is on. It'll be appropriate for track veterns and first timers since we'll have at least 2 run groups.

Details to follow.

Our region is so large that it is tough to get more than 20 cars out for an event. BUT, we would love for some of the Alberta (and east) members to take the bull (Ram??) by the horns and plan something in their neck of the woods!!

Greg;

Good to hear you are back safe and sound; look forward to deatils on the track possibilities; I researched Mission Raceways with R&P Motorsports; too pricey I think.

I've already booked a bunch of track days - and the pricing is reasonable.

I think we'll be able to do an evening for about $250 (please don't hold me to this - estimate!). I'll know more once I start getting things put together next month.

ill be there to get some more great pictures of the track events.

For every event that I've done with Vipers at Race City I hired a professional motorsports photographer.

If you were at an event and would like a picture or two I can connect you. He charges - but it's more than reasonable (I only paid for him to be there).

Greg;

That price estimate is much more realistic and affordable; please let me know available dates ASAP so I can work on coordinating this summers event schedule.

Will do.

I should have everything late next week. 'SHOULD'.

I'm getting the itch! I have no idea what I'm going to do once the track is gone in October....

Next year - after they close the track.

Seriously, it's the only option!
