Hi!
A month ago I started to hear a loud squeak from under the hood on cold starts. I replaced the belt and the sound went away.
A month later the sound is back. It is quite loud on cold starts and quiets when warm/idling. When I rev the engine while warm (in a stopped position) I can hear a bit of the squeak.
y friend brought his mechanic's stethoscope and he noticed the Alternator, Idler and Power Steering was loud, however, he is unable to determine if the sounds he heard are normal or abnormal sounds. My friend mentioned that the loudest component was the Idler, unfortunately, he was unable to pinpoint the thing making the squeaking sound.
Your thoughts where the squeak is coming from?
Thanks in advance,
D
