need help with alarm

i have a 1st gen and the alarm is set off but my only remote seems to be broken(tried new batt) . how do i reset the alarm? everytime i would try and start the engine , it would start and then turn off on me. (sorry i dont have the manual)

Try this one. It's a Gen2 thing, but may work. Hold both buttons down together for 10 seconds or so until the horn honks. Then release. That is to reset after 256 failed communication attempts. I'd say your Gen1 has maybe done that 256 times. But like I said, that may be a Gen2 thing only.
