CAAP is one answer.............

Dodge EV concept from a while back is the other answer.... I think a Tarp-money seeking Cerberus guy drove it to DC a while back?

At srt vs. vca the srt guys said they are remodeling Conner ave to build the new car, because they have a place already and it has history.

Dodge didn't have any problem selling GenI/II and they didn't have any nannies, and they were pricey for their day. When the Viper becomes the bland, mediocre, uninspiring car that the Corvette has become don't blame the purists, look in a mirror.

Maybe that European company that bought the GTSR molds will create a kit for true Viper people.

Here is what I dont understand from those of you whining about it having "nannies". It isnt a choice for Dodge. It is a Government mandated law. What dont you people understand about that? Im sure theyd keep it pure with no nannies if they could, but unfortunately sh*t has changed and all of the ********, moaning and complaining isnt going to change that. Youre either going to like the car or you're not. I like the Viper with no nannies, but will also take it with them. I am a Viper enthusiast, and the only way that will change is if they give it 4 doors and throw a V6 in it.

Also, most of you either own or like other vehicles that have nannies (Lambo's, Ferrari's. etc...), but now the Viper HAS to receive these and you act like it is the end of the world. Just be thankful that Dodge kept the Viper pure for this long. They could have "sold out" a long time ago and added every nanny known, but no, they kept it the way all of us have wanted for as long as they could.

Flame away.

So just spread 'em and take it huh? For a Texan you aint showin' much fight. It's a tough battle but laws can change, but only if enough people try to change it. And it starts off by bitchin'. Don't like it? Don't read it. You know who the purists and fighters are.

Austin, you should know better than use facts in a thread like this. ;)

Now back to driving my car, where ALL the nannies have a real OFF mode. :)

I am confident Ralph and SRT will deliver a package where the government mandated electronic aids are as non-evasive as possible. Ralph and crew are well aware of the feelings of Viper owners on this issue. Hey we did not see cam-in-cam coming and I am willing to bet they have something else up their sleeve for many of this mandated aids. It is all about "interpretation" of what ETC, ESC, and others means. I am confident Ralph has our best interests are the forefront.

Some "nannies" like cruise control are hardly a nanny at all and I do welcome that one as it is a pain in the ass for long road trips without it. As far as trannys, well my 3 cars in my small collection are all stick, but my wife does not drive stick hence if I want to sneak another one in there, it will need to be paddle shift for her pleasure. That or I sell some of mine to fund it. Not prepared to do that as I am enjoying what I have.

Chuck, you should know that I like the car the way it is. Unfortunately, it will change and thats just how it has to be. I dont think it is something we will ever be able to change, no matter how much bitchin' we do. All I am saying, is even though law mandates the changes, I will still be a loyal fan to the Viper, unless it goes in a totally opposite direction. BTW, my post wasnt specifically directed at you. I have some faith that Ralph will keep the Viper as pure as he legally can. We'll see though.

On a side not, thank God they are still offering a manual gearbox. They could have chosen to do away with it. That probably would have made me question things more.

In 10 to 20 years the nannies will become so intrusive that having an on/off switch will be nothing more than a placebo. What will you be saying then?

Where is this magic crystal ball of yours? Tell me, what stocks should I invest my life savings into? Will Barack Obama see another 4 years in the white house? will Puxatawny Phil see his shadow this year?

I saw this sometime ago in a promotional YouTube video and took the snapshot. Supposed to be the new Viper. Has anyone seen this also?

Chuck is probably right. In gov't and in business they have found it works best to gradually creep up on removing things that people like (or adding restrictions). Slowly, over time, things can get worse without any dramatic changes that would cause a revolt. I mean, if all the civil liberties we've lost over the last 30 years were suddenly removed at once, it would be pandemonium. But then, pandemonium among sheep is not all that violent.

Actually, they wouldn't dare make a front end like that. It would create a massive air-bubble once you got it up to speed... look again at that hood. Our beloved Viper will slice thru the wind. :)

None, unless you have insider information. And I mean CEO direct info like the big boys and politicians have, and not some guy that heard something. If you aren't having lunch with the CEO you might as well go to Vegas or spend your money on property.

Will Barack Obama see another 4 years in the white house?
Yes, if the Republicrats prop Mitt for the nomination we will most certainly be getting the bamashaft for four more years. If Newt gets the nomination he might be able to outsmart the campaign for a win but it will be close. The only sure fire win over Obama is Ron Paul. Like him or not, all Republicans will vote for him if he gets the nomination and lotsa liberals will too. Enough that Obama will have to phony up 10 million votes instead of 5 million like he did in 08.

will Puxatawney Phil see his shadow this year?
I don't know. That's the only game that isn't rigged. Ground hogs are very stubborn.

The tumor grows slowly but steady. By the time it is terminal 51% of the people have learned to live with it and the other 49% have given up. Democracy in action.

Hey N00b take your 2 months of experience and learn how to post less and listen more, AUSTIN has been here since 2003, that's 80 years in Viper age, this makes you around 2 years old, I don't need to hear such BS from a toddler, if you can't respect your elders, respect your betters, neg. rep..............oh wait :D

Signed,

Great, Great, Grandpa
