Oh, I thought it was this time. Thought I heard the news from someone. Too bad. Timing those sessions, like is done at Limerock is long overdue.

POCONO RACEWAY
THURSDAY, AUGUST 14, 2008


The Viper Club of America, New Jersey Region, would like to invite all Viper and other specialty/performance cars to our event at Pocono International Raceway. Let your engine breathe the mountain fresh summer air of the Pocono Mountains while negotiating the challenging turns of the infield course, and then letting it all hang out in the front straight, NASCAR turns 1 & 2, and then launching down the Long Pond Straight. Test and tune your machine while enjoying a fun packed day of performance driving on the main sports car course at Pocono. The day will be split into alternating groups: Green / White (Novice), Blue (Intermediate) and Red (Advanced).

1.] Track Opens at 7:00 am - Drivers Meeting at 8:00 am - Hot Laps start at 8:30 a.m.
2.] This is an open exhaust event.
3.] Mandatory Items: Snell 2000 or 2005 Helmet. No motorcycle helmets! Fire Suit and Fire Extinguisher for Blue and Red run groups.

what the policy concerning rain? the event runs no matter what? weather.com is predicting isolated T-storms throughout the day :(

holy ****...since no one showed up, it was virtually an open track, everything was unbelievable save for the torrential downpour at 2:30

I was on that track once during a downpour on back straight with my top off ! I realized if I kept it at over 80, the rain would go right over my head and I hardly got wet. Still *****.

The day was great. We got in 5 20 miinute sussions before the rain. it last an hour and there were cars back on the track.

This is always an awesome event. I want to thank the NJ club for their hospitality. you cant beat 150mph runs on the straights! Man what a blast. I am counting the days to do it again...

Oh by the way I will have some pics and videos posted shortly.
