Anyone ever see a Pink Viper and have a picture to share? My daughter keeps asking me if there is such a beast out there?

Sorry to hijack this thread, but seeing your signature I was curious. With all those mods, aren't your hp numbers too low? I thought a stock GTS made 400-430rwhp depending on the car & dyno.

Avi,

He has a 2001... Mild Cam. Also he has a 3.73 Gear. Put in a 307 and the Dyno will read higher.

I have a 2002, and I got 460hp and 500tq with a near identical set up.

It's the clear corners... they drain 50 - 75 RWHP.

I am getting it redynoed at the end of this month and yes because of the gears, it's probably in the 430+ rwhp range. My previous 2002 totally stock GTS (not even smooth tubes) only got 400 rwhp on that same dyno. Maybe it's the dyno. Maybe I should put some ice on the intake manifold before my pull

So with all those mods, doesn't it make more sense to stick with stock 3.07 since it equates to more hp with less wheelspin and better 1/4 mile numbers? Won't it make that power more managable for the street?

Don't start the gear debate Avi as it's a losing battle.

I've raced the same GTS in my GTS that had a gear and then went back to OEM and there is next to no difference in acceleration. We've raced dozens of times with each gear.

Seat of the pants will tell you the car is quicker but it does not make the car quicker in my book, so your right.

It sure opens a can'o'worms though!

If the rear ratio changes the dyno it's because of the way the dyno measures torque.
There really isn't any change in RW horsepower.

The dyno numbers seem a bit low, but they are not too far off.
I got 435RWHP/460RWTQ N/A with tubes/filters, airbox, roller rockers, HF Cats, Corsa Cat back, VEC-1, and 3.55 gears.

As long as your Viper isn't pink, then you are doing great!

I also live at 5000 feet which takes away 15-20% power to begin with, so the gears actually make the car a lot more responsive for street driving and the little autocrossing I do. Never a wheel spin problem unless I purposefully try

I finally redynoed today and put down 446 RWHP and 478 RWTQ, adjusted by 3% for the 3.73 gears. A Supra did 780 RWHP with twin-turbos and nitrous. That little I6 is amazingly stout.
