Sam:

Follow I-65 south out of Chicago to Indy. Pick-up 465 on the north side of Indy and follow it south around the west side of the city. Then get onto I-70 West and take it to Rt. 231. Go north on 231, then right (east) on US 40, and right again on County Rd. 550E.

If going to the Walden Inn, go back to 231 and follow it into Greencastle, then make a left on Seminary Square.

Drive time from Libertyville should be no more than 4.5 hrs.

Pick up I 65 off of I 80-94 (at I 65 mile marker 259) and go South to I 65 Exit 129 and CONTINUE SOUTH on I 65 for 6 more miles (NOTE: DO NOT TAKE I 865 to East bound to I 465 at this point LIKE all the BMW boys do !!! THIS IS NO JOKE as last year one of them cruised the beltway for 2 full rotations). At I 65's mile marker 123 merge with I 465 SOUTHBOUND ( this part of the beltway will go down Indy's West toward Airport)...at this point you will be at I 465 mile marker 20...so go South on I 465 to Exit 9 which is the Exit to I 70 West bound...go West on I 70 to Exit 41 ( Cloverdale/Greencastle Exit)...and Turn North toward Greencastle on Ind 231...go 5 miles to US 40 and turn East on US 40...going 4-5 miles to the tiny town of Mt. Meridian...look for the sign on West end of town, and turn South for 1.5 miles to the track.

Milage on I 65 to I 465=136 miles

Milage on I 465 to I 70=11 miles

Milage on I 70 to Ind 231=32 miles...total on interstates will be 179 miles...or about2.5-3 hours...the rest is about 15 minutes.

Have problems...give me a call !!!

214 miles - take rt 65 south, pick up rt 465 at Indy and head west on rt 70 to exit 3 or exit 41. It's all back roads from there so you'll need directions from someone at that point or check out a map. Putnam Park is east of Cloverdale and Greencastle. Streets 550/625/600 lead you to Putnam depending which direction you are coming from.

Steve:

Your directions around Indy are MUCH better than mine! Luckily this year I don't have to go to Chicago to help Ben drive the cars down... (Bobby's delivering...)

I'm looking forward to seeing you, Elaine, and whole bunch of old friends!

Hopefully I still remember how to drive around the track... Suffice it to say the driver, not the World Challenge car I'm driving, will be the limiting item...

I'll be leaving here in about two hours! Hopefully traffic through Indy on I-70 won't be too bad...

You will hit a little PM traffic...should not be a problem...have a SAFE trip...and call if you need anything...I'm still a GREAT Parts Runner (the local Viper Techs acuse me of having enough parts/fluids for a spare Viper stored in my car).

Those attending may want to read a somewhat parallel thread under "Viper Gatherings and Events" section that is titled : "Ind/Ky Region Meeting NOON Sat. Sept.14 during Viper Days at Putnam Park..."
