My son and I are thinking about heading out to Indianapolis for the F1 race the weekend of June 15th - 17th, and I have some questions:

* Can anyone recommend a hotel in the area of the speedway - clean, but not expensive, we'll just be sleeping there.

* Looking at the seating packages, I'm leaning towards "Stands A and B Penthouse". Where's the best place to watch? I'd like to view the straight away and some of the infield. Is the VCA or the region having any group purchases?

* Is the VCA region doing anything like corals or get togethers?

Thanks in advance.

I (and my 5-year old) might be interested in hooking up to. If I am going, it will be in the Viper, rain or shine doesn't matter.

Either Penthouse would be fine. I have sat in both. This is a very difficult track to watch a race at as there is no one place to sit to view the
Whole track. A and B are both covered for the weather and the Sun.

Our local Club does nothing. I believe I was the lone Viper at the F1 Corral and the parades. There are some police escorted parades that go off from the Indianapolis Zoo thru the downtown area and back this is free and really fun. I have included contact info for the corral and ******. I plan on going myself. Also, they have had a police ****** in to the track with special parking on the backstretch.

Contact info: The below information was for the race in 2005 but it has the contact info

317-294-9284.

Thank you for all your support and I am looking forward to viewing your parades.

Thanks for the post , Ron. As you know, our attempts to get local VCA folks interested in this great event fell short of the mark for the 2 years that we "officially" tried same (as I recall, we did have 8 Vipers in the corral one year).

Maybe this year will be better!!!
