Removing Stripes?

You could try to remove the decal stripes off a 96 RT-10 or aftermarket vinyl stripes off another year car but to take off the painted stripes sound way to trickey. The painted stripes were shot in two coats I believe, and there was no clear coat put over them (by the factory painter) but taking 1500 grit to the car would be a risk I wouldn't take.

FYI

The body panel is completely painted with the base color and cleared, the stripe is then applied and the paint lightly scuffed (not to primer). The stripe only is then painted with the base color and cleared, after the baking process the stripe is lightly sanded with 2500 grit paper and polished.

This coming from a guy that has a Sapphire Creampuff. In fact, all Vipers are red or should be red.

Just razzin' ya Stripe Man.

Your stripe comment is only for GTSs right?
