Just wondering if anyone uses a synthetic like Royal Purple in the rear end? Supposedly synthetic gear oil adds a couple RWHP. Is this true? I need to get mine changed, and if I can add a couple horsepower in the process, I might as well go synthetic. Any advice? Thanks.

I was told to stick with the mopar dinosaur fluids and the mopar limited-slip additive...

I know the Mopar fluid is the "recommended" fluid, but I heard that switching to synthetic is worth a couple extra RWHP. My question really is...can I switch to Royal Purple (or whatever) with no problems, and gain a couple extra HP?

You missed my point. I guess I will make it more clear. The OEM fluid IS synthetic. Now is your question will a different brand of synthetic make you usable horsepower?

Sorry, you asked if it was synthetic, which led me to believe that you didn't know.
