The first 200 Vipers built in the model 2000 year (of which mine is one of) were built with powdered metallic piston sleeves, the material was too hard and the rings did not seat correctly. When Dodge realzed this after 200 cars the changed to a softer material, as a result the motor was shipped to Arrow for a COMPLETE rebuild, the motor came back stronger!

On the driver's side door jam there is a month and year build date, if the build date for the 2000 model year was 11/99 or earlier chances are you need the rebuild.

Mr. Sessions I will be at Viperdays for you to kick around. Gonna either get a new '01/'02 GTS and modify it myself, buy an already modified GTS or maybe a Comp Coupe.

It's an optional Mopar rack, it's padded and holds the RT/10 hardtop when not used so as not to get scratched. A little pricey at $400+ but I got one anyway.

If your 2000 Viper was built after 10/25/1999, you do NOT have the powdered metal cylinder liners. 10/26/99 was the magic date.
