Can anyone suggest some articles on shock set up? Cause and effect for the changes being made, especially for the ones on the fly at the track.

Thanks,
Carl

Start with the adjusters in the middle of the range and make some 90% timed laps. Pull in and make some written notes as to the behavior on various corner entries, apexes and exits. Next, go full soft on bump and go make some safe, consistent laps and make more notes. Adjust to full hard and repeat. Re-center bump and do a similar test cycle with rebound adjusters. You'll figure out pretty quick what to adjust and when.

Start with ride heighth and alignment. The Shocks Matter ! But Dean's primer is right-on for 2-way adjustables. And as noted, a log-book is essential, esp if you drive several tracks.

There is a hand-dandy pocket-bible pamphlet on shock and tire pressure setup, been around for DECADES..... can't pop the title right now, avail at many race shops and SCCA online as I recall. ANYONE?

start here: Basic Setup Guide - LFS Manual

Carl,

Call Bob Blizzard. He's local and is supporting an ACRX in the Viper Cup series driven by one of our guys.

He had a full day seminar on car set up last Saturday with some very good "pearls" of wisdom.

Also, call Ross Murray as he and Terry Rossi are two very good Viper set up guys. Eric Messley also comes to mind.
