My 2000 GTS has developed a squeak sound when first started. After several miles it goes away. I don't believe its the clutch or throwout bearing. Mainly squeaks at idle. Could it be the belt?

Agree with Phil (Plumcrazy) but would add the tensioner as well

Checked the power steering fluid and it is below the add mark. What is the recommended steering fluid on a 2000 GTS? I remember in the old days we used automatic tranny fluid.

Thanks for the help

Explaining Viper things to you
FYI was just at my local Dodge dealer getting some more Mopar PS fluid as I'm doing a flush and the parts guy said that most vehicles are going to ATF4. Many vehicles actually have TSB's out but he was not aware of one on the Viper. Pump will run quieter he said and I said WHAT? I HAVE A VIPER WITH SIDE EXHAUST. WHAT?

Just feed the Super Squirrel and the squeak will go away. ;)
