Thankyou for realizing this bit of philosophical truth::smirk:
I am a reformed Gen IV hater always preferred the Gen III or IV vert didn't initially like the coupe but you can see from my avatar I had a change of heart! Nothing meaner looking than a black and red ACR. Well I'm biased:)

I plan on owning a Gen 5 to go with my Gen 3 and 4. How soon people forget the tremendous performance the Gen 3 was over the Gen 2, and how great the Gen 4 still is.

Can you imagine owning two 100k cars and the say they **** and that they are garbage. Haha. Thats called having more money than sense aint it? I honestly dont see any frigin point in bashing any viper period. I love them all. Why do people post stupid $&@" like that on the VCA forum? Why bash another brothers viper, cmon!

Seeing the new 5th gen, makes me appreciate my 2nd gen :).

B@t

I have to agree totally. Like so many have said before I fell in love with the gen2 as a young man. With as nice as the new car is it's still not my 1st dream car. But.... I guarantee you there is a teenager today taping the gen 5 to his bedroom door and saying to himself some day I will have one of these. Hopefully he will.

Nice post. the most glaring thing in this comparo is the awful SUV ride height of the previous generations. Im so glad they cured that with the Gen V. I love Vipers period. But my fav will always be the original b/w GTS for sentimental reasons. But after seeing the Gen V in person Sunday from the rear and rear 3/4 views its has smitten me as its just really a highly refined Gen II GTS. If they could just fix that front end lol. Its crazy to hate on the Gen III & IV especially considering it was the most dominant factory stock street Viper to date, with the ACR which smacked around the elite cars of the world on track. I expect the Gen V to surpass even the ACR's incredible feats.

I noticed that and I would be really shocked if they sold the Viper without wheel gaps. Most cars that are unveiled usually look much better (lowered/tinted) than at the showroom in a stealership.

Looks like the gen5 could of switched places with the gen3/4(look wise), as it looks basically like a updated GTS. I still much much prefer the gen3/4 looks.

Looks like you may be right Zentenk. Check out the video in the thread "Gen V spotted". That yellow gen V Viper has the old SUV ride height. So unless they Bilsteins are adjustable in both firmness and ride height, I think you are right about them selling the Gen V with wheel gaps. Well good thing they are coilovers so you at least can lower them. Unless its the base suspension with coil springs on the yellow Viper in the vid.

My exact thoughts. I have seen so many cars that have been introduced with a nice stance only to find out that they look like a 4x4 when they hit the showroom. They are going to make it livable for all and figure that if you want it lower that it will be up to you.

I loved seeing more styling cues of the GEN II when we saw the prototype in SLC. Now that the GEN V is public, it is great to see the best of the lines of the GEN 3/4 and GEN II all rolled into the GEN V. Ralph really does know what he's doing with our Baby!!

Regards,
Aaron
