We recently made some changes to the rear mount turbo system that we have been testing on a Gen2 Viper.

We changed the compressor outlet piping from 2.5" to 3" and then made it Y into (2) 2.5" pipes to the bottom of the intercooler. From the top of the intercooler we added (2) 2.5" pipes w/ 2 BOV's to the intake manifold instead of only 1 pipe and 1 BOV that made a Y into the intake manifold. For the intake on the compressor we were able to increase the piping to 4" and up to 5" at the air filter.

Currently the engine bottom end is built and 8.5:1 compression. The heads are similar to a stage 3 stock ported/polished head with bigger valves and roller rockers. We’re running a Motec EMS along with coil on plug ignition.

There's also a set of SVS headers with 3" exhaust back (no cats)

We maxed out the fuel system (and kept it at a safe level) using 55lb side feed injectors. We have an extra Bosch fuel pump added to the stock fuel pump along with regulator, bigger lines and a return system. We made 830rwhp and 870rwtq @ 12-13psi tuning with E85. The single 76mm turbo in this system is capable of a great deal more power and boost.

We have started to work at creating the SVS rear mount turbo system into a kit that will be capable of 1000hp+ and if everything falls into place it will cost under $10,000

We have control of the boost from 4-13psi so this system could be added onto a cast piston year viper.

It’s highly possible that this turbo kit will become a 1000hp Gen2 Viper complete solution with AEM, fuel system for under $15,000 (tuning and installation not included)

Projected availability? :)

At present we're working on pricing everything in the system.

Before we can send these out I will need to install/tune a system in house on a more stock Gen2 so we can confirm fitment and power numbers.

Here's the range we made with the fuel system limits from this system. All the runs are on E85

this engine is:

488cid - 8.5:1 - better flowing heads than stock - 70mm TB's - Headers - 3" exhaust.

528/598 - 3.5 psi
696/769 - 7.5 psi
833/871 - 12.5 psi

Sounds great, Ron. Do you need a Gen II to install and test? :)

Yes we will. We have some organizing and figuring to do on the system and then we'll be looking for a Gen II.

Thanks for the offer and in the near future we'll see how we can make it happen

how about gen III? :)

Right now everything is designed around a rear exhaust Gen2. We've looked at the underside of a Gen3 and have discussed how 2 turbos could be clocked in a way that worked with the side exhaust.

It can be accomplished but it's an entirely new project for us to start. At this point it would take someone that really wants to have it in order for us bring it in the shop
