Lee, is correct and Bob Carroll, while the Natl. VCA President did order a Venom Red ACR. This was never an option as the color was no longer available when the ACR came out, so Dodge opened up the order bank for 2 weeks and a few of us noticed. Roanoke ordered two Venom Red ACRs, Woodhouse ordered two, and two more were ordered seperately by other Dealers , along with the one done for Bob. This gave us a total of 7 ACRs ever done in this color, and with the one Tomball had done special in 2009, that evnetually bumped the total to 8. Bob Carroll's has a unique interior and a Venom Red driver's stripe. Mine happens to be the only " ********" done, and of course the one Tomball had done is the only 2009.
Color is subjective , but to say it is the least popular color , as one individual expressed is just a personal opinion. As noted the color seems to be gaining in popularity as folks who like it realize it was basically only done for one year. Personally , I have owned 7 Vipers and I have gotten more positive comments on this car than anyone I have ever owned -- it surprises even me, as I owned a 96 Blue white, 06 VCA Edition, 05 Yellow VCA Edition, but this one gets the most responses.
Price wise it reflects what we have seen with Vipers for years, and that is a simple supply/demand situation. Since alot of these were done in 08 they do seem to have more on the market, hence it affects value to a small degree. The same thing has happened to Viper Red over the years and even to other colors that many deem quite popular , just due to more on the market than usual.
Overall the situation comes down to what it always does with a Viper, if you like the color get it, as you are the main person you want to please.
