What are the BEST perf tires .. period?

The tires on the Z06 are probably the grippiest true street tire available.

If you wanna sacrifice some wear for more grip, check out the AutoX specific tires.

OK, I'm looking for no-hype opinions from folks who know, so I thought I'd hit the old VCA board.

I'm looking for the best performance tire for road and auto-x use.

Now, I think I know the answer for auto-x only, which I believe would be the Hoosiers (DOT). But, I also believe these aren't exactly recommended to drive around town with on a daily basis.

So, for auto-x and street use, in your humble opinion and experience, what is the best tire?

The tire size would be about a 295/35/18, just in case that matters.
