I've used Pioneer components in my 1995 Viper. You can get some info on it by going to "http://www.viperproject.com", "Sound System" section.

It works great for me, looks good at Car Shows, and sounds great.

Hope this helps.

I recall a alpine changer works with the standard head unit,
but you need a special wiring harness between the two, I had a
new alpine head and changer fitted, it sounds a lot better
than stock and works well with the hennessey roof

I've had both Pioneer and Alpine units in other cars and they never gave me any headaches. I did have problems with a Clarion unit that I bought a while back!

The head unit in your car is an Alpine...
If your going to piece meal a new system START WITH THE SPEAKERS.

Consider a used Viper CD head unit if you want a CD player.
Looking at this tread you can see there are plenty of take-off's around.

The standard 10 speaker unit is all I need. The rest is just noise!

I bought mine with the CD changer already in there. It is an Alpine system with an Alpine amp and different drivers too. I think you are going to want to add a sub at some point too but good luck finding a place to put it. I ended up with mine in the passenger foot well.

I don't have a hard top but I've heard nothing but great things about the autoform and others.
