Just wanting to see how many Vipers people think have over 10k ("high mileage") on them. My guess is 60%. Year doesnt matter. A 92' with 11k on it is high mileage just like a 06' w/11k is for this post.

You should do a poll.

2001 with 1600+miles. Give me time. :2tu:

I would think this perception of anything over 10k is high will have to change eventually. :dunno:

I think this deluded perception is only held by Viper owners.
Nobody else thinks like that.

I agree, when I tell Viper owners mine is a 96' w/77k on it, they say "man you drive it a lot"

When I tell Joe Blow that, the most common response is "thats all?"

Whats wierd is all the guys who have way over 10k on them and report no problems at all. Its not like these things self destruct at 10,001

Pushing into 11K and never looking back!!
When I first went to buy mine I was that average JoeBlow that was shocked when I saw most of the vipers for sale were under 5K miles. I first thought maybe there were problems with the cars or maybe too many rich people liked to just collect them, I could never realy understand why people put so few miles on them (I still don't). I ended up buying mine with right at 3K. After the last 8K over this year and not a single problem. I would hapily buy any viper under 20,000 miles. When mine hits 20K and is still purring like a kitten I will revise that to 50K miles. I just cann't control myself from wanting to drive drive drive!

That is the same response I get unless they are ******** car guys. Guess when I get a new ACR and put a bunch of miles on it people are going to pass out. LOL!

2005, 13.5k miles, in a year and a half. Bought new. Would have more miles if I had better parking at work, Id drive it every day. Been on a few 300+ mile drives and a a drive from CA to Vegas and back. Its a great car to put many, many fun miles on it.

My '98 GTS is at 18,297 and counting. I look forward to racking up some seriously fun mileage with this one. Like my dogs, the viper always wants to play. Oh, I think I hear it calling again--better take it for a run...

'96 GTS with close to 26,000, and it had 17,500 on it when I got it almost 3 years ago. I wanted a Viper since it was released, and when the blue/white GTS came out I knew I HAD to get one. I didn't buy my dream car with the intention of it becoming a dust collector, so I drive it whenever I feel the urge.

The only issue I've had with the car is the clutch slave that went out a few months ago, but it's an 11 year old car and I'm amazed at the durability and quality of the Viper. I worked on it in my driveway using regular tools and a service manual that was written in English.

Another poll question would be how many miles people put on their other cars, and then ask why their Viper can't do the same?

2,100 on it; appear to enjoy cleaning it more than driving it LOL.......I live near a major high way so I can ramp up a few boosts all in a 7 mile run.

That's a good question Tom. I can happily report that since May of this year we have driven 13,000 Viper miles and around 6,000 miles on other vehicles.

Another good companion question would be how many of these miles being told of here have been put on by the current owner? All 75,000 miles on the 00 are mine and 3,000 more on the 01. We have averaged almost 1700 miles per driving month on the 00 and 500 miles per month on the 'show' car. (owned 1 year--15,900 miles currently) I just can't seem to not drive either one of them.:drive:
