The difference is the R series doesn't have that stepped down edge part of the way inside the wheel. It's a true deep dish with the spokes going all the way to the edge of the wheel. Looks much better but unfortunately the idiots at HRE can't manage anything but empty promises about when (or if) they're ever going to make them in Viper sizes.
Don't hold your breath waiting on HRE. Those guys ****** me around for 5 months until they finally admitted that they had no plans for 19" R series rims for the Viper.
