What\'s wrong with this car?

A friend on mine wants to know what is wrong with this car? I told him it is to good to be true and sounds fishy to me.

If it sounds too good to be true...well you know the rest of the story. Nobody in their right mind would "give" that car away with that few miles for that price. Also the way he has it listed is enough to say "scam" to me

If it waddles like a duck and quacks like one, it must be a scam. exactly no bidders on this car the price is so cheap a dealer could buy it and flip it and make a bunch of money.

Yep, Scam!
Once again, guy says he's in Italy and that the car is in NY, blah, blah, blah... I asked him to meet me for lunch and we'll discuss the car and I'll money for a down payment--in Rome, of course, I am only 1 1/2 hrs away, and I haven't heard from him since! LOL

I did the same and contacted this guy via email. He said he had to go back to Italy and couldn't afford the car to go with him. To much to ship to Europe. His cousin has the '01 in NYC. He wants 10% up front as the winning bidder.

I told him I would set up an escrow accout if I liked what I saw. I told him I would come pick up the car or transport it myself.

He has never responded. CAN YOU SAY MAJOR SCAM????

Hi Sir,
I had to move over sea I am currenlty located in Europe, Italy so I couldnt
take the car with me here cause the shipping costs too much and is hard to
register an US car here so the car is at my cousin in NY City I had sign him
over the title so he will take care of all the papers and the shipping, I
have put the item on pre-approved cause I had many problems in the past with
some unserious bidders, some of them bids just for fun and because of that
my auction has ended many times, once I had problems even with the higher
bidder i mean he never contact me or provide the payment after he won the
item since then I only list my items in this way.So I dont want to repeat
the story I prefere to talk the detailes(shipping, price...payment, etc)
first and if we come to an agreement you can bidd or buy the item.The car
never been damaged no scrtaches or dents in the paint and never been in an
accident I a the original owner.The car will come with the clkear title
there is no lien on this vehicle also u must know that if u wil buy the car
u must pay a 10% deposit in advace and u have 10 days to send the rest of
the funds.If this is acceptable we have a deal.

I saw the same thing last month on a snowmobile valued at 8500.00 and he would take 3000.00. I emailed and he wanted western union wire transfer sent and would send to me.He stated he was from us but his ill father lived in Italy and he was there caring for him.anyhow there was a post on a snowmobile page about this scam and also plasma tv's a big scam for these guys.the bottom line is when someone is asking 40% of what something is worth on ebay it is a scam.

Check out the original listing for that car...then check out feedback by original "winner"... He says someone hijacked his e-bay ID.
I dont think I would buy anything over a couple hundred dollars on e-bay.......what a shame....

I have been buying and selling on e-bay almost since they started and some of it has been some high dollar items. Ten to fifteen thousand dollars but not vehicles. I have not got burned yet but if it is a high dollar item and the seller won't accept an escrow service of your choice then stay away from it. The escrow service may cost a little more but I have found it to be well worth it a couple of times.

What a strange coincidence. That guy on ebay took the exact same pictures in front of the same house. It's a shame ebay can't do more to these scumbags or get enough verifiable info up front they can be tracked down and prosecuted for fraud.

if the car is in his cousin's in NYC, then check the picture on the auction again, notice the trees on the back ground?? can anyone tell me WHY can't i find those trees around here in NY, hahaha
