I have a customer looking to buy two complete rear ends from a [******] Viper. I know it's a Dana center section, but I didn't even know where to start looking.

EDIT: I was trying to say Hen-nessey, but it wouldn't let me..

Thanks!

He was under the impression that they were beefed up.

Any idea where I could find two of them today, new or used.

Thanks,
Rick

Ok, If he thinks they are better, make me an outragous offer and I will pull mine out tonight :)

My buddy has a 650R and I am sure he will sell it for a stupid offer too.

Some [******] rear ends were equipped with non stock ratios; gears you can buy from any number of venders. Otherwise, the rear ends were stock. I run UniTrex 3:33 gears in my 650R because of the high speeds and long distances here in Montana.

****** (I was trying to say ("h-M-s") what a joke

Buy the Dana gear - its cheaper and stronger

If your customer truely wants an indestructable rear end, you can get a Quaiffe ( www.quaifeamerica.com ) rear limited slip diff and a rear diff cooler. Archer Racing and others sell them, primarily to folks road racing their cars. www.archerracing.com These rears are tough, and really work nice.

The Vipers rear end is a Dana pumpkin. Only thing most tumers do is install different gear ratios. If you want a top quality stout Viper rear end, buy it from Unitrax. It will exceed your expectations, they sell more Viper gears and rears than anyone... you'll also get it in a timely fashion and pay a reasonable price for a top quality piece. Ask for Devin, he knows (Viper) rear ends:

www.gounitrax.com

1280 N. Sunshine Way
Anaheim CA 92806
Phone: 800-622-4327
Devin King [email protected]

"..UNITRAX is the leader in Viper rear axle ratio changes and repairs. We offer only the highest quality components at very competitive prices. We can perform the work on your Viper or you can ship your differential to our shop in Anaheim California. We offer one-day service on most jobs plus special upgrades to your differential. Let UNITRAX bring out the power your Viper craves!.."

You can also go to these fellows, they sell to lots of guy's drag racing their Vipers and sponsor the Ohio regions Viper Drags:

DTS 26400 Groesbeck Highway
Warren MI 48089

Phone: 800-521-0628

Gordon

Specialists in rear-end gear installations.
$1750: Viper rear-end assembly outright with
gears of your choice.
$450: gears of your choice installed in
customer supplied Viper rear-end assembly.

(Not sure if these prices are still correct)

I've heard nothing but good things about Unitrax. They can build a rear for you that will last.

Dana 44, later ones are a Dana "Super" 44..... just bigger bolts mounting the carrier ring.

From what I hear, with housing machining a Dana 60 can be stuffed in.
