"where's the oil ?"

Had oil&filter change by dealer,replaced oil sensor(leaking).Dealer had to replace 10 qts.oil,not 8 as called for.Last service replaced 9 qts.Manual calls for 8.Dipstick shows o.k.Is everything "hunky-dorey" '94,11000mi.thanks,tacodan

What year? They changed to a larger oil pan in 2000. It also depends on if all the oil was removed from the oil cooler and if they prefilled the filter.

Gen 1 had 10 qt oil pan from factory.

What manual do you have that calls for 8 qts? My 94 service manaul calls for 10 under fluid capacities in the first section of the book.

That's the dry spec; my experience has been there is about a half quart that doesn't drain, so the refill takes 9.5 quarts. Go by the dipstick.
