Which exhaust sounds like this...?

My old car made a "popping" sound when you let off the gas and decelerated, especially when in 2nd or 3rd gear at high RPM. It was a full Belanger system with headers and stock cats. Does the other systems do this? What causes it, the cats? Thanks

I think it's unburned fuel that when it hits air (oxygen actually...) at the end of the exhaust pipe it ignites and pops.

Anything that gets that fuel to that point is a factor; tune, cats, etc.

Our car *pops* on decel...did it a BIT more after headers and exhaust...but it's a NICE POPPPPPP!!! We will KEEP it!~~~juli

My Random Tech/Corsa combo does it big time, I think of it as a cop magnet and haul in the clutch most of the time.

My totally stock system except for high flow cats does it at random times and I don't really mid it.
