I just bought a wide band a\f meter for my 2000 gts. The car has tnt headers installed. Where is the best place to install the ****, or can I just unscrew one of the O2's already in place and screw it in to that opening. Something tells me you can't do this. Any help or pics would be great.
Thanks

I have TNT headers on my 99 ACR, and installed the **** on the outside of the bend before the cat (on the passenger side). Sorry, I don't have pics.

Great, thanks! When you hook it up, how do you run the wires into the cockpit?

Let me make a suggestion. If the collector is ceramic coated you don't want to drill or weld in that area.

As far as the entrance into the cabin, I came off of the floor on the passenger side about four inches forward of the seat and four inches above the floor. I popped right into the cabin thru the side carpet because I have a logger.

This area is very accessible in the tunnel from below by removing the belly pan. With a gauge you might want to come in a bit closer to the floor and keep the wires behind the tunnel carpet and bring them forward and up into the dash.

You can also come in anywhere in either toe box, but, be careful about running the cable parallel and in proximity to the collector since it runs about 600-700 degree's on a cool day. It is high temp insulation, but, not intended to run in the same cavity for any sustained distance.

If your dyno operator uses either forward oem O2 location for his data, put the permanent sensor on the opposite side. If you do not have cats the location is meaningless. Put it where it is easiest. Most exhaust system have a short transition pipe in the rear as the pipe makes its ninety to the inside. This can be pulled in five minutes on a lift, less hassle means more fun.

Mine is permanently hooked up to a logger in the car. I used a 2.6 meter WBo2 cable.

Hope this helps...

The o2 sensor in the pic is the factory sensor. The black cable is coming in from the WBo2 sensor in the sill. I followed the factory o2 cable inward to the frame rail (wrapped both with heat sheath). From there, the WBo2 cable goes back into the tranny tunnel. On top of the tunnel, there is a recessed (as viewed from inside the car with the tunnel cover off) portion of the tunnel. I drilled a ~1" hole there and used a big @$$ rubber grommet from Pep Boys. The cable then runs forward under the plastic cover to my WBo2 logger which is installed under the passenger side knee bolster. The 2.6 meter cable was pretty much the perfect length for this.

Jack-thanks for all the great info. The headers are not coated, and I do have cats. DB-thanks for the great pic and description as well. This is exactly what I was looking for. Both of you just made it a lot easier.
Thanks again
