Word To The Wise with Those Inner Fender Thumbscrews

Tonight I decided I'd aim the headlights on the '96 RT.

What I call the thumbscrews are the plastic big headed "bolts" that retain that forward inner fender to the fender liner.

On my car...and just about every other '92-'02 I have seen....the "handle" part of the screw is parallel to the slot in the fnder liner. Over time, the flat part has winged out like a stingray making these really tough to remove.

When I got my 2000 GTS new, my cousin turned all of those screws for the handle part to be perpendicular to the slot as shown in the pic. This way, the strong part is better placed....and much easier to remove later.

Maybe everyone already thought of this...but I figured I'd pass that along. Once Al showed me I couldn't beleive I missed it.
