just curious if any of you would purchase a number plaque like the one's seen
with all the special editions dodge is doing with the SRT'S and FE 2002 GTS. many
of us have cars that are very rare and i for one think it would be a great idea
for dodge to offer this to VCA MEMBERS ONLY as another perk to joining. do you
think dodge would listen if enough of us asked for it.

what could really ad to it would be to find the number as to when it was built,
meaning was my 2002 rt/10 graphite # 17/143 or 100/143. dodge has the info and
ability to do this BUT WILL THEY.

Would not be cost effective for Dodge to do it, so most likely it would never happen but another option we can have is a group buy on something like this. Now a quick question, how do the non-limited number cars know the number that they are? Ex. 17/144 etc.

Dodge has the information based on your VIN. You may not be able to ascertain your vehicles position in build out, but they certainly have this info.

Dodge has allready ruined what special edition w/numbered plaques means. Seems like everytime you see a new color, you see a new special edition of 50/200 ect... Your car is becoming more rare then special editions w/plaques. Mine is 1 of 36 2001 red w/stripes, thats pretty rare but I would not want a plaque on it now.

I would be more interested in the information than the plaque. Come to think of it, I would be very interested in a chronological list of VIN build numbers. Then I can find out the info myself (my car is #6,543 of all vipers, #3,123 of all GTS', #432 of '99, and #100 of Silver with blue stripes for example). Seems like it's probably just in some database at Dodge and all someone has to do is print it out, but who knows?

What they should have done is produced them with their own vin#'s as was done with the Vette ZR-1's. Then this would be moot.

Interesting thing I found out about the FE GTS numbers...there were not assigned sequentially.
For example, the build date for 324 was May 29, 2002, however FEs 264, 275, 301, 191, and 55 also have that same build date. FE 354 of the 360 was built 3 weeks earlier, and 101 and 130 three weeks later...or 101 was built 6 weeks after 354.

Thanks, but I found the info I wanted. For those others who wanna know the date and time your Viper was built, click here---> MDH. It will tell you how to decode the MDH # on your VIN sticker. It should work for all Gen 1 and 2 Vipers (possibly Gen 3 as well)
