    Tires at Costco

For what you get at costco, the price is unbeatable. The convenience alone makes it worth it (and you won't find a more frugal $20/hr viper owner). Also if they don't have a $60 rebate, just wait a month or two and they will. I took my wheels in loose because it's just silly to put the car...

How much extra power by removing cats?

Wow, if chopping off some cats "just goes too far" then I really don't want to mention some of the other illegal things I've done in my Viper. Any who, for you guys that have already done this, how bad is the smell. That's the only thing I'm concerned about. With OBDII, as long as the check...

Help - New owner and first problem with car - advise please

Oops, that's embarrassing. Thanks for the correction, my memory's not so good for the details anymore. (I think ncr is a type of paper). NGR is not exclusive to 96-98's though, or even to vipers (other makes used the t-56). I think it got somewhat better after '97 or '98 because the factory...

Help - New owner and first problem with car - advise please

The transmission has to be good and warm before you'll hear it because the fluid thins out. Also the previous owner may have put some 80w in there to minimize it, but when it gets hot enough you'll probably still hear it. You should hear the rattle only with the clutch peddle out ... put it...

Help - New owner and first problem with car - advise please

Oh, one more thing ... I'd just disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the pcm, and see if the light goes out (and stays out) before you get too concerned.

Help - New owner and first problem with car - advise please

The rattle you hear is neutral clutch rattle (ncr) common in t-56 trannys. It's normal and won't hurt anything. Don't know about the air bag light.

Dead Battery..idles very rough after jumping...is this normal?

Mine was the same after a dead battery. The computer just needs to recal.

    Viper On Speed Channel

No, that was a Travel Channel special. I think this one is all Viper. It's an older show I think, so probably just Gen1 and Gen2.

    Viper On Speed Channel

For those of you who haven't already seen it (me included), the American Muscle Cars: Viper episode is being re-aired on the Speed Channel on Tuesday, January 30 at 5:30 pm est.

Gas struts for GTS rear hatch

Autozone is the only way to go. Had them in stock at the local store, no shipping, no surprises, and I think I paid even less than $20.99 (plus the sales guy probably won't get short with you).

    Dead battery-2000 GTS

My fobs didn't need to be reset. I wonder if it has something to do with whether the alarm was on or off when the battery went dead? Your pcm will be reset so the engine will likely run a little rougher than ussual the first time you start it. You might want to make sure your battery is...

    Car dies when stopping

My money's on the idle air valve. Really easy to get to ... much easier than the battery. Pull it off and spray it out really well with carb cleaner. That fixed my idle problem.

    Slop In Transmission?

Thanks for the tip. Does your transmission seem to have a lot of that back and forth, slack and clank, when going from power to compression too? It feels like there's a lot of driveline slack, but it sounds like it comes from the transmission. I'd like to hear that they're all like that, so I...
