yes, you will need to replace the rockers. Also, what are you planning on doing with the valves and springs?
Oh, and I do not think six hours is enough time to alot do to the job. I certainly would not want my guys skipping any steps or being sloppy with the R&R.
Best of luck.
Basically I pitted three cam lobes because of the lifters. Plain and simple, the lifters just wore out. I had one that had .0029 worth of material left on one side. I figure another 250 miles, and that pin would have fallen out and killed the block (along with everything else) I feel pretty...
Thanks for all the input guys.... I decided to go with an upgraded kevlar clutch from JonB.
JD, I am keeping the stock half shafts for now. The cost on this project keeps rising as we get further in.....seems I killed the cam and lifters. So, now we are going with a solid. Still though, I...
Hey guys and gals,
I am in the process of putting the 700R stroker motor in the car and decided to replace the cluth since access is so easy now. (55k miles)
I am looking for opinions on what I should put back in. I will have about 625 at the wheels with the new powerplant.
Thanks for your...
I have 55k on my Venom now.....
I have blown through at least 25 bottles of nos.
No major issues with the car - not even the cluth. (time to go knock on wood)
Oh, and by the way, Corvettes are gay.....
Why? Simply - it is easier to go with a smaller injector and not have to worry about trimming the fuel/altering the duty cycle of the injectors. These injectors are better suited to an application that is going to make BIG power....like SC or Turbo applications. I will be making BIG power on...
Guys,
I purchased one of the two remaining sets of injectors that are detailed in this thread- http://vca2.viperclub.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB24&Number=331254&page=0&view=&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&PHPSESSID=
If any of you are planning on going...
I purchased one of the remaining sets from Bill and have not had the opportunity to use them..
So, I am willing to part with them for the 1k that I spent on them.
Please Email me if you are interested.
Regards,
Martin
redsnake,
I guess you don't know Joesph. Gerald is right on the money with what he is saying. Your original retort on Joseph's post shows your own insecurity?
The point is, Joseph wants to see the differences in the graphs so he can extrapolate possible scenarios for his car. Nothing else...
Re: Whats the maximum amount of \"Naturally Aspirated\" RWHP/RWTQ on a Viper?
Jeff,
For my stroker - the 510, I had the short block assembled by Hennesse y. We used coated bearings, JE Pistons, and Manley Pro Rods. Compression will be 11:1
I am putting it all together with McIntosh...
Re: Whats the maximum amount of \"Naturally Aspirated\" RWHP/RWTQ on a Viper?
Great question.
On Stock internals (488) running pump gas - 600rwhp is about the best you can do....unless you want to go radical with Intake, dry sump, and motec, etc...
The highest number I have heard of is...
Hey Gerald -
I would tend to agree with you on the MPH. However, one thing to consider is that in this test they are getting the Actual MPH at the END of the quarter, where as at the strip...it is calculated differently.
I would bet that with 912 at the wheels(non corrected), the car may go...
Re: JD DLM on 10.2 and BTR in the 9\'s More Info???
Joseph's car ran 10.26 and 10.28. Both runs were 140. (spinning in first)
Cudaman broke a half shaft.
There was no other big news. The Vipers were generally running high 12's at 110 - 115. The track sucked for street tires.
I will...
Yeah....Tony. I meant Ringers in the sense that they were experienced racers that came well prepared. Where they got me each time was from the start. They would instantley jump 1 car on me and them a second car by the end of 3rd gear.
Gerald, I asked specifically for quarter mile times from...
You know, I have never taken the car down the track. I have no idea what it runs. According to J. Hennesse..... With my mods and bottle pressure I would trap low 140's. That race was the first race I have ever lost to a bike. Honestly, these guys were ringers, they are regular drag racers...
For those of you that have heard about my recent setup race with a Busa and a GiXXer...I wanted to pass along that the Bikes that beat me just ran those times in the 1/8th.... Needless to say, now that I know that, I feel better about the loss. 118 is MOVING. The Video link is below...
Here is the video......
I will say this much. This is the first time I have lost to a bike in a race.
I am not going to call BS on any of it. I was ready to race. I was spinning in third gear - all the way. Roy in the car will confirm. However, there were 20 guys there and all of them...
