Why you buy shaft mounted rockers.........inside!

BTW. The Arrow rockers lost 1 hp and picked up 3 ft-lbs against the Crower rockers.

Why you buy shaft mounted rockers.........inside!

Unfortunately I didn't start putting my car on the dyno til reasonably local shop opened up. I already had the Crowers on by this time. I picked up .1sec/1mph in the 1/4 which should be about 10-15RWHP. It certainly wasn't 40.

HELP NEEDED - Patriotic Paint Themes - VCA Board Creativity...

Janni, I think you ought to do something similar to the VCA car from St Louis. Instead of silver, grey and black, make it red, white and blue. I like the crisp, sharp lines better than fades and blends.

    Time to sell my Viper!!

Been there and made that decision. I was depressed for 2 weeks after deciding to sell mine. Luckily no one has bought my car yet (advertized here for 3 weeks), so I'm still styling around town and I may not be forced to sell it anyway. Good luck with selling yours. Dave

Why you buy shaft mounted rockers.........inside!

I was able to guinea pig the Arrow rockers and have had no problems in about 4K miles of driving. I don't see how any mildly modified car would have problems with these if they were installed correctly. Of course I had over 34K miles on the set of crowers I took out of my car with no problems...

Hand Brake Pulls Up too Far...

After mine starting doing this quite often, I took out the console to find the problem. The mechanism where the little spring is at the bottom of the lever just needed to be lubricated. It's pretty obvious when you get down to it. One way I found around it is to not pull up so quick.

    2003 Viper Hardtop

Not that I will ever be able to afford one, but all this talk of aftermarket hardtops for the 03 irritates me. If its like the Gen 1's (or 2's for that matter) they will not be that great. I have a lot of aftermarket stuff for my Viper and the only one of the great things lauded on this site...

SEASNAKE 4 sale - Many boring drives ahead I guess

Thanks for the support guys (and girl). Maybe I can moonlight as a Dominos Pizza driver. Wouldn't that be a sight with the little dominos sign on top of the car?

SEASNAKE 4 sale - Many boring drives ahead I guess

I wouldn't mind a Gen III, but something about the no frills aspect of the Gen I car just makes me smile. I love the look on peoples faces when they try to open the door the first time. I just hope I can own another one someday.

SEASNAKE 4 sale - Many boring drives ahead I guess

It looks like I will have to sell my snake. Many of you know how much the car means to me - but some things come first I guess. I tried to talk my wife into letting me sell the kids, but no luck. Anyway, if you hear of somebody looking for a really sharp looking old R/T in excellent running...

    V-Mania windows

Andrew, I had all kinds of problems with my VMania windows. I assume its not fitting with a hardtop (upper window gap). I adjusted my window sockets in the door, custom weatherstripped my hardtop, bent the windows some more for a better fit, trimmed the passenger window weather stripping to...

95 VIPER WITH ROD KNOCKING... NEED HELP..

I bent a connecting rod in my '94 that caused a similar rod knock at 45K miles. I don't know where the best or cheapest place to repair this is. Good luck.

    wheel alignment------Marv S ?

I wouldn't worry about it unless the car had been wrecked. We checked mine the first time it was aligned and it was no problem. The alignment turns into a real job if you have to adjust ride height. If you need specs for daily driving, search the site for a post I put here a while back. I...

    BTR STAGE 2 CYLINDER HEADS..........................

Just for some info I have been the guinea pig for the Arrow rockers in a Gen 1. I put on 2300 miles on them, including one track day with no problems at all. I went from Crower to the Arrow rockers and the dyno difference was down about 1 hp and up 4 ft-lbs tq. I didn't dyno them with the...

    scratched valve covers

A while back someone posted paint manufacturer's and numbers for the valve covers. Maybe its still on here somewhere. Mine are pretty scratched from all the various times they have been removed, but I don't really care. My car is more daily driver than show boat anyway.

Why do you like stripes vs no stripes on your Viper?

About 1 in 100 people liked my car better without stripes. Of course the first one was my wife. What does she know anyway?

    Gen1 Cooling-what is Normal

The fan won't come turn on until the temperature is around 230. Normal driving - I see right around 195. At the track (road racing) the temp will stay near the 230 mark. Stop and go around town 195 - 230, depending on when the fan turns on. If you are concerned about this and want it lower...

    RedLine Water Wetter?

I've been using it for about 7K miles with no problems. According to the literature it lowers engine/head temperature by removing more heat from the engine. Water temps should rise a little if anything. I haven't talked to anyone who actually measured head temps to see it it really works...

Throttle Bodies & Dyno work for Gen 1

Just in case you are curious. I had my '94 dyno'ed the other day before and after I put on an old set of throttle bodies that I had had opened up for the heck of it. My car has Headers, 3" catless exhaust, 1.7 rockers, K&Ns and smooth tubes. Corrected before measurements of 414.9 HP/ 489.9...

The car didn't have cat back exhaust mods? Did you have filters in your airbox? No aluminum flywheel? What happened to your supercharged car Jason?
